Sacred Feminine
Today (March 8th) is celebrated as International Woman's Day all over the world and as I realized what day it is it caused me to reflect on being female. For many life times I have chosen to incarnate into the female body and energy - seeming to have much to learn as a soul through this avenue. So I have experienced what it is like to be female in many different times in Earth's history.
Millenia ago there were Goddess religions thriving in many places on the planet. During these times male and female energies were more in balance. People lived in greater harmony and valued the Earth and its resources. There are archeological evidence still in existence of these cultures. With the advent of monotheism there was a drastic shift in the balance of male / female energies and power. With the rise of religious institutions that were male dominant and of social orders that were also in this same structure came the demise of the females place in balance in society. The Sacred Feminine not only fell into disfavor, but there was an all out war to eradicate what was once her position in societies.
By the time we arrive in the Dark Ages this assault on femininity was at its height. The Inquisitions with their false accusations, trials and terror were put in place to remove all power and position that women had held. Over a period of 200 - 300 years millions of people were tortured and killed with more than 85% of them being female to instill a firm understanding of the power of the ruling males, and females place in their system. This is our history's female holocaust. Women could not own property, practice healing, get an education and were relegated through torture and terror to be known as inferior, sinful members of society.
It has taken hundreds of years to overcome the damage and inherent stigma that was done during these difficult times and the healing still goes on. If you are female and on the planet today you likely carry either in soul memory or in your DNA the collective memory of these times. I personally have memory of living in these times and of being burned at the stake for being a healer to the people in my village.
We live in a time that cries for change and balance in every form. We are transiting to a new consciousness and to a restoration of our basic human and soul nature. Restoration of the Sacred Feminine plays a large role in this process. Feminine energy contains qualities that the planet desperately needs; compassion, nurturance, peace, community, social connection, cooperation, harmony, understanding, etc. In order for the planet to move forward successfully there must be a restoration of the Sacred Feminine in equality with the Sacred Masculine.
By incarnating over time as a female on Earth much has been learned.....and now it is time to act on this knowledge, for women to step fully into their empowerment and for men to support them as they re-learn how to be empowered without fear. A re-union of balance and equality.
In celebration of the Sacred Feminine everywhere......In peace. Margie
